The Aviva Stadium, Dublin
The Aviva Stadium is a sports stadium located in Dublin, on the site of IRFU's former Lansdowne Road. The stadium, situated adjacent to Lansdowne Road railway station, has a seating capacity for 51,700 spectators.
The Ireland rugby union team will play its home games at the stadium, as they did previously at Lansdowne Road, it will also be used by the FAI for soccer. It is likely the stadium will also host occasional home games for Leinster when the RDS Arena's smaller capacity will not satisfy demand. The IRFU hopes to host the 2013 Heineken Cup final at the Aviva and are likely to place a bid in the near future.
As well as games and matches, occasional concerts are scheduled for the Aviva Stadium making it an outstanding sporting and entertainment facility in the heart of Dublin.
The Aviva Stadium is well served by public transport with bus, DART, Luas and rail bringing fans within close distance of it.
There is a good choice of hotel accommodation in and around The Aviva Stadium in this suburb of Dublin 4 and it is convenient for many of the hotels in Dublin's central and south city also.
